Senator Terri Bryant Announces Bid for Re Election

MURPHYSBORO -
State Senator Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro) says she'll seek another term in the Illinois State Senate. Senator Bryant is currently serving as Assistant Minority Leader and the spokesperson and ranking member of the Illinois State Senate's Energy and Public Utilities Committee. The Murphysboro Republican says she believes her strong conservative record makes her the best choice to continue to serve the citizens of the 58th Senate district.

Bryant first took office in January 2015 after defeating a Mike Madigan-funded Democrat opponent. Bryant has since defeated both primary and general election opponents by wide margins. The 58th district State Senator says serving the citizens of the Metro-East, central, eastern, and southern Illinois is a privilege and honor, and she pledges to continue to represent the shared values of the citizens she serves.

"I'm proud to have built a strong conservative record as State Senator. I'm running for re-election because I believe I am best suited to continue representing the values and interests of the people of the 58th district in Springfield," Bryant said. "We have a lot of work to do to bring Illinois back from the damage that the liberal-progressive agenda has caused. Crime is out of control, taxes and inflation are through the roof, and corruption continues to plague state government. We can turn Illinois around with the right leaders in office."

Senator Bryant currently represents all or parts of 14 counties in the 58th district which spans a territory that stretches from the Mississippi River on the west side of the district to the Wabash River to the east.

"I represent a huge district with diverse needs and that means I have to be on the road meeting my constituents where they are to understand what they need," Bryant said. "It's a joy and a blessing to have made so many great friends in this Senate district and I am so proud to help my people. I look forward to the challenges and successes that lay ahead as I seek another term in the Illinois Senate. I'm so thankful for the opportunity to serve and look forward to continuing in this role for another term."

Senator Bryant previously served as State Representative. During her time in Springfield, Bryant has compiled a 100% pro-life and 100% pro-2nd Amendment voting record. Senator Bryant has also voted against expanded rights and benefits for illegal immigrants and has voted to cut taxes on food, fuel, medicine, and school supplies. She has also voted against raising pay for politicians and budgets that expand the size and scope of state government.

"I'm a proud conservative," Bryant said. "What Illinois needs at this critical time in our history is someone that will hold the line on spending, respect and defend the Constitution, protect the sanctity of life, and oppose measures that compromise our state and nation's sovereignty. That's what I've done in office and that's what I plan to continue to do in another term. I am thankful for the support that I have received from the citizens of the 58th Senate district and look forward to continuing to serve my friends and neighbors in Springfield."
